Carrie Fisher's Brother Discusses The Footage To Be Used For Star Wars: Episode 9

Bespin refugee - January 03, 2019

During a recent appearance on Good Morning America, Carrie Fisher's brother, Todd, hints that General Leia's appearance in the upcoming Star Wars: Episode 9 could be more than just a cameo. Following the actress' death in 2016, it has been reported General Leia's role will continue posthumously via unused footage from The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Todd Fisher says, “There’s a lot of minutes of footage. I don’t mean just outtakes...“This is unused, new content that could be woven into the storyline. That’s what’s going to give everybody such a great kick. It’s going to look like it was meant to be. Like it was shot yesterday.” He adds, “We’re not allowed to talk about the details of anything,...But we’re thrilled at what’s been done.”

Star Wars Episode 9, written and directed by J.J. Abrams, is scheduled to be released December 20, 2019.

This is probably the biggest spoiler that has ever been leaked, regarding any Star Wars movie, EVER! Out of this world can only mean one thing SPACE!! So, natch, some part of this movie has actually got to take place IN SPACE!! Talk about unraveling the very mystery George Lucas himself first buried deep within the enigmatic tapestry that is the Saga of the Skywalkers!??

People seemed to debate whether or not Luke was heroic, in The Last Jedi... To me, he was, most certainly. I loved everything about it. But, this post of his just proves why he is a hero in real life. At least, to me.

I don't know, it still seems a little to much like whoring out her dead body for a quick cash-grab (or more likely fan service after the train wreck that was Last Jedi). Still, at least they're not resorting to CGI zombies.

Todd Fisher's Statement On Carrie Appearing In #StarWars Episode 9

"I couldnt be more personally thrilled and happy that our Carrie will reprise her role as Princess Leia in the new and final Star Wars Episode IX, using previously unreleased footage of her shot for Star Wars: The Force Awakens...As we, her family, as well as her extended family of fans around the world so believe, Carries Princess Leia is forever entrenched in the franchise and her indelible presence is fundamental to the film. J.J. Abrams understood Carries iconic role, and he has masterfully re-crafted this final entry to include this unused and very last footage of Carrie ever taken, without resorting to CGI or animatronics. Our family and her fans will look forward with great anticipation for this one!
