Taika proved that he can direct fun movies and even put some depth, he seems to be good fit for the franchise. I think just doing a Star Wars story type movie is the way to go, they can focus on early days of Darth Vader maybe even on Luke after the end of ROJ or go into the past as it was rumored.

He would be an interesting choice, although I don't know if his particular style would be suited for Star Wars or would go over well with the fans.
