Bespin refugee - May 26, 2020

Discussing his latest projects, producer Frank Marshall gives an update on Indiana Jones 5,. He confirms reports that James Mangold will take over as director, while Steven Spielberg will stay on as a producer for the film. While this will. be the first film in the franchise not directed by Spielberg, Marshall believes he is an ideal choice to take over, "I think Mangold is an expert at twisting old-fashioned genres and tropes with just enough postmodern intrigue to result in comforting yet challenging Hollywood movies."
With the change in directors also comes word that the writing has "just started. Not long after reports of Mangold taking over as director, the Coronavirus pandemic led to a release date change to 2022,. Marshall also gives an update on the effect the pandemic has had on production
"The number one thing, obviously, is the safety of everybody the cast, the crew, and all of us. So, were looking at the guidelines that are coming slowly, from the health experts and the studios and the different parts of the business, and were just trying to incorporate everything, so we can move forward and be safe. Its going to obviously slow things down, so were trying to adjust. You wont see a lot of big crowd scenes, for example, for awhile. .... Its a moving target right now. There are a lot of people working on the solutions, to be able to work and be safe."
